Jasper Health Expands its Reimbursable Cancer Supportive Services to 27 States, Advancing Biden Cancer Moonshot Vision

Clinician-facing platform scales supportive oncology care with evidenced-based supportive care plans, community resource matching, documentation automation, and clinical trial recommendations

Boise, ID, June 4, 2024 – Jasper Health, a leader in human and AI-enabled supportive cancer care, announces a significant expansion of its 1:1 virtual care to 27 states across the U.S.

In a decisive growth step for the early-stage company, Jasper Health has realigned the company to focus on a new reimbursable business model, with a vision to scale its supportive care services nationwide in 2024. The decision was largely in response to the groundbreaking announcement from the Biden’s Cancer Moonshot Initiative in November of last year that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and a subsequent wave of Commercial payers will now accept Principal Illness Navigation (PIN) codes.

The company, through its affiliations, can now serve patients covered by Medicaid/Medicare and those covered by major commercial payers including Aetna, Elevance, and UnitedHealthcare.

As the nation’s leaders in cancer care gather this week at the American Society of Clinical Oncology’s (ASCO) Annual Meeting, ASCO released a policy statement affirming the critical role of Navigation Services.

“With our focused efforts developing the new PIN code support services, Jasper is building on the evidence and policies developed by CancerX, NCCN and ASCO to provide cancer support and SDOH services that meet patient needs,” said Dr. Chet Robson, Jasper Health’s Chief Medical Officer.

Jasper began testing a direct-to-consumer and provider-referral offering for cancer navigation and supportive care in the state of Florida in January 2024. The emphatic response from patients on the critical unmet need for 1:1 emotional and logistical support with cancer has fueled this rapid national growth sprint for the company.

“It’s been so helpful to talk to someone outside my family. Jasper helps me find the small wins,” shared Joy, a Jasper member managing breast cancer.

“For the first time since my cancer diagnosis, I feel encouraged and inspired, heard and hopeful,” said Andrew, a Jasper member managing colon cancer.

As a founding member of the Cancer Moonshot Initiative, Jasper Health is prioritizing this reimbursable care offering with a vision to be in all 50 states by the end of 2024 as a clear commitment to Jasper and the Moonshot Initiative’s shared vision: to reduce disparities in cancer care and improve outcomes for patients across the country.

Future plans include behavioral health expansion providing more complex mental health support for cancer patients, survivors and caregivers.
