“I wanted to not just survive, I wanted to thrive.”
How Jasper helped Michele transition into survivorship
Michele was matched with Sara, one of Jasper’s counselors, following a recurrence of invasive lobular carcinoma in 2023. As she concluded treatment and moved into survivorship, Michele’s work with Sara centered on prioritizing the things that brought her joy and listening to her own needs to recognize when she needs to rest. She swims every day, does Pilates twice a week, and walks her dogs with her husband each day. With Sara’s support, Michele is also working on allowing herself to rest and putting her own needs first, staying flexible in the face of lingering fatigue.
A few resources Jasper shared with Michele
Michele's counselor, Sara, shared vetted resources that responded to her biggest challenges as she finished treatment: coping with scanxiety and finding local and virtual support groups for cancer survivors.
