Why I specialize in cancer
I studied exercise physiology and had a professor who conducted research about exercise and cancer during active treatment and in recovery. Learning about the relationship between the two really blew my mind—it combined something I was passionate about (exercise physiology), with something I hadn’t previously considered pursuing (oncology).
What Jasper patients have said about working with me
“Sara was outstanding. She made very helpful suggestions and encouraged me to take advantage of resources offered by Jasper. Knowing we were talking every few weeks, she made herself available sooner if needed to give me peace of mind.”
In my work, I get to show people that they’re so much more resilient than they thought they were. I want to leave people feeling motivated. It’s not uncommon for people to focus on limitations throughout treatment, whether chemo makes them feel weak or surgery has left them with limited mobility. But working with people to focus on what they can do is really powerful.
